Not a fan of seeing Coco so low still without his backhand..
Great victory for the Frenchman against O'Connell but does he really deserve to be such a favourite?
I am Moutet's first defender since his return with his one-handed backhand, I will not turn my jacket, I like what he produces while being very diminished. A quality of hand and short game super useful on grass, he manages with his weapons to annoy his opponents as he can. It was great against O'Connell given the profile of the Australian, Coco could move him and take him into his very particular line of play. I think it might be less obvious against Carballes given the profile of the Spaniard who is more mobile and quite skillful in the short game. The Spaniard is not good on grass but his first round proves that he can still produce good matches on this surface. On a good day he has a good quality of serve and can also take the game to his account on the forehand side by being aggressive. He is typically the kind of player who will go all out in every match regardless of the surface or the opponent, he also plays at home and will give 100%. I don't agree with seeing Moutet so low when he still can't do a two-handed backhand, yes he does well but it's too important a point to take into account in the ratings.
