Troicki's soldier
Considered a small hope for Serbian tennis (since now Djoko will no longer win a grand slam 😅), I saw his 1st round on site in Gstaad alongside his coach Victor Troicki. Here's what I thought...
Well, I'm going to be a bit harsh without really knowing the person, but when you look at Hamad Medjedovic, you're a little scared. He has the glassy eyes of a pit bull who wants to eat you just because his master ordered him to. The pateau gait, sagging breasts, a bulge, regular spitting of molards on the clay of this high Swiss place... In short, it doesn't make you want to. Yet he has a pure and heavy strike. He is a powerful player with a good serve, no wonder he passed his 2 qualifying rounds in this tournament at altitude.
In these first qualifying rounds, I could see how difficult adaptation could be for most players. The ball flies, and before I really go on the court and see it with my own eyes, it was still a phrase in the air. But the players are indeed in constant restraint to secure their shots if they are not confident or used to this kind of conditions. My point is that in general therefore, a player who already has 2 qualifying matches in his legs has a certain advantage if the other is only playing his first round.
However. If Zhang is so well ranked at the moment, it is mainly due to his very good tournament in Madrid where he chained Rodionov, Shapo, Norrie & Fritz before losing against Karatsev. What predict a good level once in his match...
