The defending champion in danger

After a great victory against Korda, Coric must now pass the Hurkcaz obstacle and it is far from over.

Far from being won but Coric leads 3/1 in confrontations, very tight victories but victories nonetheless. The Croatian is defending champion here and his first lap was remarkable in his mastery and calm. Led 5/2 in the tie-break of the first set, he didn't get excited and ended up winning 7/5 against a not so bad Korda. Fast conditions suit him perfectly, when he's on the serve he's a real weapon in his game and in the rally he showed little weakness. Korda tried to insist on his forehand (Coric's weak point) but he managed it well. Hurkcaz struggled a lot against an eye-catching Kokkinakis as expected, anyway there are few easy wins for Hurkcaz.
