Purcell finally meets a real opponent!
Cecchinato then Kuznetsov (Lucky Looser), we can't really say that it was complicated for Purcell to reach the 1/8th final..
Purcell was expected this week but we couldn't see him being really tested given the weakness of his first two opponents. The Australian nevertheless had the merit of being serious and of having managed his matches quietly. We really feel that he has great confidence in his playing patterns, he knows what he has to do and does not hesitate for a single second. His forward game is formidable, no surprise for Griekspoor he knows what awaits him tonight. The Dutch is not very polished with the draws at the moment, Zverev, Tiafoe then Draper in the 1st round of his last 3 tournaments, only heavy. The fast conditions are also good for him this week, he hurts with his forehand and if he sets the sights on serve we could see him performing as well as in Washington.
