One last dance for Big John

Isner has announced his retirement after the US Open, whether we like his style of play or not, he has always been appreciated for his person and will be missed on the circuit

For his last Big John, he hits a still unknown Argentinian but with good potential, an affordable first round on paper but this season nothing is easy for Isner. Of the last 16 tie-breaks he has played, he has lost 13, a stat that is representative of his declining form, he is less clutch than before. There is no doubt that with the enthusiasm of the public and the desire to have a good last tournament, we should see him at a good level, on the other hand. He will therefore be opposed to Diaz Acosta, a fairly promising young left-hander, he has had excellent results this season as a challenger and is already in 93rd place. A good left-footed foot and a grounder's game, he must progress on fast surfaces but I think he could be top 50 in the future without getting too wet. It will only be his second match in the main draw of a Grand Slam, against an extremely experienced player and in front of his home crowd, it's the kind of match that will teach him a lot, victory or defeat.
