Nakashima do you like this game?

Often at ease in this tournament, Nakashima will have the weapons to beat Djere but the American does not excel when it comes to winning quietly.

As we know, behind his first ball is very good but he has more difficulty on the return and very (too) often finds himself having to play tie-breaks. This season he hasn't been able to chain the victories but he continues to try and comes out of good matches more and more frequently. Last season at the US Open he took out Dimitrov and took a set from Sinner, in 2020 he also took a set from Zverev. He tends to play well here and I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a good first round, anyway he's going to have to work hard if he wants to beat Djere. The Serbian is progressing on fast surface but he still has gaps and only won one game here in the main draw against another grounder in 2018. Since then it's 4 defeats in the first round even if it must be emphasized that he had caused Rublev big problems last year. First confrontation between them, not really an advantage in the match up neither for one nor for the other, Nakashima will do Nakashima and should hold on the service and be in difficulty on the return. I didn't like Djere's attitude at Winston Salem at all but he was in a horrible match up for him against Baez and completely exploded in the head, on a Grand Slam I would be surprised if we saw him let go also easy
