Calves VS Biceps
Imposing builds in a face to face really very interesting to analyze..
My first feeling is to tell myself that we can't really judge the previous performances of the two players. Between retirements, clay players, surprises, it's difficult to draw too many conclusions because the two opponents of the day were finally only partially tested. We also have two players who weren't playing very well before this US Open, you have to call a spade a spade. And then two players who are not afraid to attack and take risks. It really is a special matchup. Shelton is still much more attracted to the net which could upset the Russian (how many players in the top 100 go up a lot on the volley apart from Cressy, Purcell, Huesler...). But the Russian's early catch isn't easy to negotiate either because it gives you less time to get on. In a duel like this, experience is essential. Difficult to imagine a 3 sets zero on one side or the other, and difficult to predict how much Shelton can sublimate in his dream conditions for him.
