A risky game but pleasant to watch, you should be wary of Shimabukuro

The Japanese came out of the qualifiers and after a 3h35 match we could wonder if he was capable of continuing. Well yes he spanked Carballes and impressed me once again. I followed him during his qualifiers for the US Open and his striking power impressed me, he jumped against a Gaston on fire but really he can catch fire and become unplayable at times. It remains to be seen whether he can maintain this level over an entire match against much higher ranked players and we will have the beginnings of an answer tomorrow. Griekspoor is a good piece and the Dutchman was good in the Davis Cup and he restarted the machine after a less good period. Little jump in the Davis Cup before falling back into its failings or did we find some very good Griekspoor? Hard to say and on a first round you have to be careful.
