The somewhat fast conditions favor his aggressive play and his powerful ball. I had been following him a lot this summer and he was either giving a shit or he was taking one. He has a risky game and that's very good. That said, against Richard, I saw him be more patient in the exchange, notably with backhand slices. It looks like he is evolving his game to get a better winning shot/unforced error ratio. This detail, which may seem trivial to you, is in reality essential I think, as his confrontation with Etcheverry approaches. For what ? Because Etcheverry is a ground player and knows how to keep the ball in the field. The same match on earth and outside China, the Argentinian would win 8 times out of 10. Both players serve well, Etcheverry was on the verge of beating Ruud 5 days ago. Zhang is playing at home... and we have no confrontation to gauge. You see what I mean ?
