A trap appearance?
Machac is indeed in full swing. Putting Tsitsipas at 1.45 proves it. Let's see what happens.
Since September, on the Machac side we have: final to the challenger of Cassis, winner challenger Orléans, winner challenger Mouilleron the captive, lucky loser in Stockholm then beats Wawrinka before losing in 3h10 against Djere, already 3 matches here in Vienna without losing a set. That’s 22 wins for 3 losses lol. What are its strengths? Serves well, covers his ground well, good forehand... but above all a tough mind for me. If he earns so much it is because he has a monstrous desire burning within him and which makes him fight like a lion. But let's not forget that he will play his 6th match in eight days, including a huge fight against Djere. I will be really surprised if he has enough to beat Tsitsi after such a sequence. He is certainly very confident and has nothing to lose, but apart from Draper in Orléans, he doesn't beat anyone who plays top 30 for me. Is Tsitsi playing top 30 at the moment? He held up well against Thiem, and I think the surface suits him well. The tight and fast trajectories on his backhand bother him less than big topspins even if there is a limit with the speed of the ball. But his backhand "held" mentally against Thiem, and was above all compensated by an incredible forehand. As soon as he hits a forehand there is danger all the same...
