Sonego defends his title!
The Italian won last season by coming out of the big names but he arrives in very average form and will have to pull his fingers out of the...
Behind his first ball I find Sonego so crumbly in the last matches, his backhand is a big weak point and it stands out even more than usual. He has periods where things come out a little better but that's not the case at the moment, even his victories are sluggish. Lots of motivation this week as he defends points but a lot of pressure too. On the other hand Giron is much more convincing and finishes the season strong, he doesn't do much on the pitch but hangs on and remains an extremely hard player to maneuver. His flat forehand could well bother Sonego but it's hard to anticipate, it's the first confrontation.
