Heavy for Van Assche
VDZ finished the season strong and could be one of the serious outsiders for the final victory.
We have felt the Dutch gaining momentum for several weeks and this is confirmed from match to match. He only jumped against Rublev last week and without being ridiculous too, I'm curious to see what he will do this week. A first round really in his ropes given how Van Assche is struggling to get through the main circuit at the moment. The Frenchman takes sets here and there but he lacks a little trick to get through it, his lack of power indoors prevents him from hurting his opponents and in general he endures too much. He still managed to upset Djere last week and almost beat him but he has to count on the mistakes of his opponents. VDZ will have time and that scares me, Van Assche must take him into his sector and counter him but it's not easy..
