Ideal conditions for Ofner?
The Austrian likes tournaments at altitude, the ball flies a little more than usual and favors his lumberjack shots
I like what Ofner is offering at the end of the season in fast conditions, he showed that he has the level off clay and chall. He puts a lot of pace into each shot, whether forehand or backhand, and asphyxiates his opponents when he has the rally in hand. His opponent is a qualifier who I don't know very well but from the matches I have seen I would describe him as having a fairly passive profile who likes the dirt and lets his opponents make mistakes, I could be wrong since I don't know him perfectly and that I lack knowledge about him. He came out of the qualifiers feeling extremely sluggish, every time he played a match on the main circuit he lost in 2 sets, doing a good set, then he collapsed. He seems to be a step below and Ofner already beat him last season in high altitude conditions on earth, not conceding a single break point despite 43% first serve.
