Arnaldi finally respected?
The guy is always an outsider even though he plays like an easy top 20 player, is that still the case against Machac?
And yes ! So why is Arnaldi still an outsider this time? We can understand against Bublik given the Kazakh's XXL start to the season or even against Shapo who has a big history in Miami and had just given Tsitsipas a beating. But against Fils I didn't understand and the same observation here against Machac, the Czech plays well but not to the point of making him the favorite in my opinion. Because Arnaldi plays even better (from my point of view) and offers more guarantees on certain aspects such as service or mentality/attitude. He is unstoppable on the court and knows how to keep his back when things are not going well, he also knows how to win matches by playing badly. Something less obvious with Machac who gets very frustrated when things don't go well like against Murray or who completely cracks like against Mannarino. But Machac is having a sick tournament, victory against Rublev being perfect then an anthology victory over Murray where he says he played the hardest match of his career, we can reasonably think that he will have no pressure and that he will play with crazy relaxation. Coupled with his quality of movement and his current confidence it can hurt. Arnaldi is younger and may feel more pressure and tension, he is playing for a place in the M1000 quarter-finals and the arm may shake. This is what I can tell you here but you have understood that my choice is made..
