Berrett still too strong for Sonego?

4/1 in direct confrontations for Matteo but it will be the first time on clay, so why not!

Berrettini is already back at an excellent level, he is holding up physically and in the game it is just as convincing. He got rid of a catchy Munar and will have to fight against his friend Sonego. In general he does well against him but on a fast surface (3 times on grass!), can the slowness of the ground help Sonego to do better in the match up? Certainly, in any case it won't be worse. A bit more time to throw the first ball again (on the other hand Berrettini's kick on his backhand will hurt) and in the game he will be able to fight a little longer in the rally. It's thin, I admit, but I loved his attitude in R1, he was at 200% and shouted well after the match point. Perhaps his change in training gave him that extra motivation that he had been lacking lately?
