10 years !
Zverev has been participating in this tournament for a decade, when we know his level and his results on earth it's almost surprising to have seen him "only" win twice here!
And yes, because Zverev puts a lot of pressure on himself at home, he has long had difficulty feeling good on the court in German tournaments. He hasn't won here since 2018 and obviously wants to break this bad streak, luckily he only plays Rodionov in the first round but his real opponent will be himself. As I said he will put a lot of pressure on himself and be tense tomorrow, it's never easy to enter your tournament especially with all the waiting behind him in Munich. Opposite Rodionov will surely feel it and must start this meeting strong because once Zverev gets going I don't see him losing. Not convinced that the heavy earth and the cold conditions will please him, in short it's a tricky first round where he will have to be serious, not simple..
