Hubbie and the Promised Land
Our Pole, with charisma and a mollusk-like appearance, is playing the best tennis of his life on the surface. Can he bend against Fritz?
Hubbie impresses me more and more. Impeccable service, depth of the ball, foolproof mentality. The only criticism we could possibly make of him is not being killer enough during important moments in big matches. He had that effect on me when he lost against Zverev at the United Cup at the start of the year, then against Medvedev at the Australian Open. We feel that he has the keys to the match, but he lacks that little extra virility. Fritz is also playing very well, and this season on earth is on track to be his best too. He adapts better and better to the conditions and gets less frustrated than before. For me we have two huge servers with confidence and on a fast surface. Their clashes have always been close and I don't see why it would be any different today. This match will surely come down to small details, and in this game, I give a slight advantage to Hubert. For what ? Because Fritz has been playing a series of matches since Munich and I see the American a little less solid on the important points. His first two rounds are very good, but Hurkacz's are really good for me. Draper then a very good Altmaier, it's really solid. I hope I'm not biased by the Pole's enormous impression of ease, but that's my opinion. Let's look at the odds now...
