Cerundolo back in business
The Argentinian signs his first big performance of the season, we were expecting it given his rise in power!
For several weeks we have felt that Cerundolo is getting closer to his best level, his results are better and he was missing a big victory to validate this. It's done with a huge victory over Zverev, Francisco played the perfect match. He took advantage of the passivity in Zverev's exchange to attack him, return his serves as much as possible (only an ace for Z), and above all he excelled on drop shots. It was very good but we are starting to know this Cerundolo, excellent matches then holes with a bad attitude. His body language is bad even in victory, I personally don't like it. Against Fritz his quality of return will help him even if I have the feeling that the American is doing extremely well on the serve, he should have a little more free points than Zverev. In the game it's also different because Fritz is less passive, neutral balls will be attacked, he will follow the net, will be closer to his line... it will be different! Cerundolo leads 1/0 in H2H with a victory last year at Roland, he declared that he had difficulty at the start of the match to restart his opponent's serve, very important given the conditions in Madrid, we are not at all on the same earth. From what I have seen from both players this week I see Fritz being the player who will decide the outcome of this match, his quality of service and his attacking game should help him take the upper hand, he is good this week but Cerundolo too! So what do we do ?
