Mein Muller!
Our Frenchie beats the Fucsovics musculator to wear at R1, and we like that!
Very good impression and game content from Alexandre Muller since the start of the season on earth. A little scare in Madrid with an injury to the right thigh (probably a contracture) and off we go again. Alex is still as solid as ever from his baseline but he has recently shown us a great, intelligently chosen aggressiveness. When you think about it, our French qualifier beats an in-form Fucsovics by putting in a complete match of great quality. He cut off the Hungarian's legs and that has to be done. And he took him by the throat very often on his second balls, thus depriving the Hungarian of a good quality of service which had helped him to win the Bucharest tournament. How does that compare to Arthur? This will be their first confrontation on the main circuit (7 years separate them anyway). I think the match up is not bad for Alex who will be able to use Arthur's power and put himself in his favorite position as a blocker. Nah, the big question concerns the form of French hope. In Madrid he was ill, but still played against Altmaier. Just before, he releases a good Barcelona, but blocks against Lajovic. I have mixed feelings about its current level. I'm not in his good books but I think he's doing better (15 days separate him from his match in Madrid) and above all that he must be motivated like a lion as Roland approaches. It nevertheless arrives with less pace than last year, and Muller is waiting for it firmly...
