Ban-ban-banger.
Two excellent first rounds achieved by Baez and Lajovic, this match interests me greatly.
I had already found Baez not disgusting during the last matches on grass and indeed he feels the ball quite well, his R1 was mastered royally. Set at the bottom and present physically, Baez was very good to start the tournament. Lajovic was also impressive even with a lost set, he seemed in control and not really worried in the game. We are on two players who can play hard for a week and go for a title, they have already done so it is extremely complicated to say. Their H2H doesn't help us too much, the matches are close and one doesn't have a big advantage over the other in the match up. Personally I will put Baez as favorite when they are at their best, his ground coverage and his ability to counter make the difference. Lajovic's game is demanding, it has no room to be out of whack but when everything clicks it's magnificent and almost unplayable at times. We will have to make a choice, or not!
