Round 3
Shang won 4 and 4 last year right here, then 3 sets a week later. Shelton win this time?
Shelton is gradually taking in information and is understanding better and better how to play Shang. But Shang has reached a new level in recent weeks I think. He played better than Dimitrov at Wim and lost because of his lack of experience. We're talking about Dimitrov, who beat Monfils in 3 sets in the previous round. Shang has 3 matches under his belt here, with 2 days of rest in total. He knows his opponent, and is playing well. He is confident and, for me, has the basic game that Shelton doesn't have. Matches in 2 winning sets are less successful for Ben because he hasn't yet found the right balance between his power and his aggressiveness. And it shows right from the serve. This will be his first match too!
