Shapovalov contra la afición sueca

Y este partido tiene un perfil algo similar, con Shapovalov teniendo un techo más alto pero también un piso más bajo. Ya se enfrentaron este año, en la final de Dallas, en pistas duras cubiertas rápidas. Aquella vez, Shapovalov ganó con cierta autoridad en sets corridos. Me pareció que Shapovalov jugó a un gran nivel esa semana, y aún no se lo he visto. En su defensa, han sido dos partidos raros como gran favorito ante locales sin nada que perder. Aunque Shapovalov lo ha hecho muy bien aquí en Estocolmo en el pasado, sí creo que las condiciones favorecerán a Ruud. Está por verse cómo reaccionará en este partido si el público vuelve a ponerse en su contra (algo bastante probable, dada su entrevista y el hecho de que Ruud es escandinavo). Además, podría volver a resentirse de la espalda. También cabe la posibilidad de que todo esto lo encienda y termine sacando a Ruud de la pista a base de golpes; tiene las armas para hacerlo...

They did already face off this year, in the final in Dallas on the fast indoor hardcourts. That time, it was a somewhat dominant Shapovalov win in straight sets. I thought Shapovalov played at a great level that week, and I haven't really seen that from him yet. In his defense, it's been two weird matches as a big favorite against locals with nothing to lose. Although Shapovalov has done very well here in Stockholm in the past, I do think the conditions will favor Ruud here. It remains to be seen how he will react in this match if the crowd once again turns against him (which is quite likely, given his interview and the fact that Ruud is a Scandinavian). Then, his back injury could flare up again as well. I will mention that there is also the possibility that he gets fired up from all of this and just hits Ruud off the court; he has the weapons to do so...
