How far will Laslo Djere go?

This quarter-final will be the 8ᵉ game on earth in 11 days for the Serb. Admittedly, he hasn't had such grueling matches as Popyrin at Umag, for example, but the Argentinian Pedro Cachin is not really the right opponent if you are a little physically challenged. Let me explain..

Djere is a compact player. He likes to hold his line and distribute, not the other way around. In this position, you have to be very precise with your footwork, and have good self-confidence so as not to make too many mistakes. This partly explains the inconsistent results of Djere, who is there when you least expect him, and not there when you expect him. Here, he arrives with a lot of confidence in his shots. But there are two things that will impact the quality of his shots: cold temperatures (~15-20 degrees max) or even rain, and Pedro Cachin's defense. Having seen him at Roland Garros, Cachin is really strong to deliver a long ball 30 times in a row. He had done that for 4 hours against Thiem, even if Dominic no longer has the power he had before. What also makes Cachin so good is that he generally has less need to struggle on his service games thanks to a good quality first serve. The conditions at altitude are perfect for him and he only proves it this season with great performances in the 4 tournaments played in these conditions.
