The landing
The Americans arrive in force with Fritz and McDo. But unfortunately, at least one will be eliminated tonight...
Tommy Paul, aka the Californian surfer, is back. He delivered a superb performance against Cerundolo, in a fairly physical match with a lot of shots. He showed that he was the most consistent, even allowing himself to raise his level and drop some serious bags in the 3rd set.
For his part, Giron ousted the rich kid with an unbelievable character. I named Holger Rune. I don't really know what to think of Giron's level as Rune made bad choices, but a bad one! And then I never really managed to read Giron. He can come out of some really good games like staying in win hibernation for a while. He is a compact player who responds present from the baseline, of course. But I find Tommy Paul's game and range of shots much better... I don't really understand their history of confrontations by the way...
