Ritchie continues?
After a good first round it is now Nakashima that we will have to beat, on the ropes of the French?
A real good first round for Gasquet, against a semi-finalist Huesler here last year and an aggressive player, it was not a foregone conclusion, especially given Gasquet's form. Excluding the challenger, he remained on 5 defeats in the first round on the main circuit. I found him well involved throughout the match with the desire to do well, it would be very smart to get a result this week when we know his physical difficulty in a Grand Slam now. The US Open is next week and I don't think it's a real goal in his head, when you see the heat it could be very hard for him in a format of 3 winning sets. A bit of luck today it's less hot, only a few degrees less but it can make a difference, he has to take advantage of it. Opposed to a Nakashima faithful to himself, the French will have to rely on his service to hurt on the first shots and not to engage in extended exchanges too often.
