Kubler back, really?
I confess to you that I half believe it. A bit like Draper, the guy struggles against his body which begs him to stop playing tennis for a while 😅. After that can have the opposite effect: the guy is so happy to be able to play, that he likes every moment and plays relaxed... To see!
We are on Saturday August 12 at the Cincinnati qualifiers. Jason Kubler is preparing to play his first official match since Wimbledon, that is to say for about a month. He falls against a very good Lajovic and loses in 2 sets. Behind, he released a much more solid match against Nakashima but still lost in the 3ᵉ tie-break. Then he has to play the doubles at Winston Salem with Hijikata, but guess what: he withdraws because of a shoulder injury. His game, we know it: good server and good baseliner capable of working from the bottom as well as attacking to follow the net. And then of course an Australian mind...
Opposite, it's not the same dynamic. The Italian is having a great season which allows him to go from 134ᵉ in the world at the start of the year, to 62ᵉ today. A constant evolution since his career start in 2019. He wins a lot of games mentally and sports a beautiful effective forehand. A great style opposition is coming, with totally different states of confidence, but it's not as if Kubler isn't used to it 😉.
