Paul for a breakthrough?
Good move to play for Tommy Paul who now has Safiullin in front of him, then Davidovich (hot!), then Shelton, Thiem or Karatsev to join the 2ᵉ week before playing Tiafoe or Ruud in 1/8 for a quarter against Djoko...
And if not Safiullin? 😂. The Russian had the heavy task of taking out Cecchinato in the 1ᵉʳ round... 😎. He has an aggressive baseliner game which I think is fun to watch. He doesn't talk much about himself. Always in the shadow of Rublev, Medvedev and Khachanov. Yet Roman Safiullin comes out of a quarter-final at Wimbledon and then reaches his best ranking of 43ᵉ in the world. Fast surfaces are his passion. So once again, and as with every tennis match, nothing is decided. We obviously expect Tommy Paul to raise his level of play because it was not great against Travaglia in the 1ᵉʳ round. I think Safiullin is good for him if he wants to beat Fokina in the next round. It's time to get into the competition!
