Hurkacz has come a long way.
Led 2 sets to 0 and a break behind in the 3rd he managed to get out of it again. He likes it Hubert!
Another victory in 5 sets in the snatch for Hurkacz, we are not really surprised as it becomes a classic. Faced with a good Huesler, the Pole held on well in the head and waited for a drop from the Swiss to jump at the opportunity. After the 3rd set the match was over, Huesler was cooked and Hurkacz regained his confidence, he didn't panic and in the end it was a match that lasted "only" 3h16, nothing to be afraid of physically for our nice Pole. After hitting an aggressive southpaw he now has to deal with... an aggressive southpaw. Draper is a better version of Huesler I think, the Briton takes the ball early and sends some hell of a stump. The advantage for Hubi is that he is settled now. During their two confrontations we had the right to 3 tie-breaks and each time Hurkcaz managed to take the upper hand, the end of the match was clearly to his advantage since physically Draper is still soft. With all his injuries it's hard to trust Draper in a match in 3 winning sets, he obviously has the punch and the talent to piss off Hubi again but over time it seems complicated..
