Norrie in a negative spiral..
Disappointing results and a more than average level of play, Norrie is struggling to get out of this bad dynamic.
Two defeats in the Davis Cup at home for the British, we saw him encouraging himself even more than usual and trying to do violence to himself but in the end it was two defeats. He no longer offers much in the game (even less than before) and makes a lot of stupid and unforced mistakes. Polmans is on a much better dynamic but the Australian evolves almost exclusively as a challenger, we often see him showing up in Grand Slam qualifiers and that's about it. He already has 3 victories in his legs here and hasn't been broken yet (12/12 break points saved), so yes it's against players not at all at Norrie's level but just the fact of stringing together victories at the moment must give him great confidence. In the game it's really not crazy but does it take much more than that to bother Norrie right now? In any case it's another level and milestone for Polmans to cross, to see how he manages it..
