Vukic wins less, a move to play for Carballes?
The Australian is slowing down a bit but he hasn't just had simple draws lately, should we be worried?
4 defeats in the last 5 matches for Vukic, an inglorious record but he doesn't lose against painters either! Confidence must have taken a hit but we must not forget that he has a truly excellent 2023 season and it would be wrong to call everything into question for a few defeats that are frankly not alarming. He will have the opportunity to move forward with a rather affordable draw, playing Carballes on a very fast hard court in M1000 is nice, isn't it? The Spanish is not good on hard and we saw it again last week when I found him completely to the West tactically. Against a good Shimabukuro who played in rhythm, Carballes said to himself that it was a good idea to get into his game and try to play like a tough specialist. We saw him try to catch balls early, accelerate, go to the net, etc. when that's not his game at all, ok you have to know how to adapt but that was nonsense. On top of all that, he lacked lucidity and became very angry. I doubt he will give us such a bad match again but if he leaves the game too much to Vukic he could get punished, not an easy choice..
