The survivor Thompson
A real miracle his title in Los Cabos, the Australian came back from a 6/0 4/1 in the quarter to finally beat Zverev and Ruud then, incredible.
Well after this incredible tournament we must quickly return to the fight against a Kovacevic who has been making great progress lately. The American is powerful and aggressive, he is playing really well at the moment and will want to hit Thompson. Does he have the game for it? I'm really not convinced. He took 0 and 1 against Thompson last year on grass, on a slower surface I doubt it would be more to his advantage. We saw it all week when Thompson decides to do the wall it takes a lot to make it crack and I was amazed at how well he moved. With always a good quality of service and enormous confidence after a big title he arrives in the best possible mood. No change of country/conditions but watch out for fatigue all the same since he was also far away in doubles in Los Cabos.
