Arnaldi is doing it again?

The Italian came out of the qualifiers before beating Ruud last year, it's true that the speed of this Madrilenian land lends itself well to his game.

Arnaldi describes himself as a player who adapts to the surface, he considers himself good everywhere, I agree. He is powerful, capable of holding his service games well, coming to the net, covering his court perfectly, etc. In short he has a complete game, his forehand and his serve will do damage to Madrid once again. This season he alternates excellent tournaments with more average and hanging matches for no particular reason, we feel that when his game clicks well it is a solid top 20, but when his forehand/serve is hampered he finds himself in the tough have to fight. We don't wish him on this R1 against O'Connell. The Australian is also a multi-surface player, all the qualities that I mentioned before for Arnaldi can be completely transposed to O'Connell. The only downside is that his one-handed backhand is a handicap in certain match-ups; he cannot be as defensive as the Italian. And Arnaldi knows this, the game plan is clear, hit his opponent's backhand with power and depth, or even go up on the volley on a first kicked ball. It is obvious to see Arnaldi favorite but...
