The Revenant(s)!
Trailing two sets to zero during their first round, Safiullin and Machac have come a long way and agree to a second round where the one who leads will not be the most serene.
Safiullin defends a quarter-final and gets a seed in the first round, I can understand why he struggled to get out of it especially since Cerundolo cancels out his game a little. Good restarter, capable of taking the game on his own counts with his forehand, in short a lot of things that Safiullin doesn't like. But Russian is still there! A great comeback which is nothing compared to what Machac did. Trailing two sets zero then 5/0 in the third set he came back from hell to escape at the finish. Two comebacks and now? New match up, Machac raises badly and if Goffin knew how to serve like Safiullin in the fifth set it would be 6/1. I like Safiullin's hyper aggressiveness on grass, it's effective and it puts pressure on the return too. Machac hits the ball remarkably and breaks the diagos with disconcerting ease, he can maneuver the rallies better and offers a little more things. My choice is made, I'll let you discover it just below!
