Mr. Challenger
Blockx is particularly good as a challenger this year but he has yet to win on the main circuit.
There's this little block for Blockx on the main circuit which should only be a matter of time because he really has the level to advance in certain tournaments. He's already come out of qualifying before falling in the first round but we see that it's getting closer and closer! He's in great shape too, he made the final and a half of challenger quite recently and now he comes out of qualifying. Not really the desire to lay him, quite the opposite. In addition, he's a player capable of everything, he can serve well and he's a bit crazy in the game, he can send hard on both sides and try very difficult things but he's also a sander. Enough to offer a good little fight to a Giron in the hard! The American hasn't won yet since we returned to the US hard courts, he's coming off a defeat against Munar and Mannarino. Not good matches in content, much less solid than usual and more impatient too, it doesn't exude confidence. On the other hand, he is at home and will fight like a dog, that is his number 1 strength. He is at home, he will be hard to overwhelm, he has more experience than Blockx and despite a lower level of play at the moment he remains the favorite of this meeting. On the other hand, it is not going to be easy, he will have to fight hard from the back against a confident guy who feels the ball very well and will believe in it.
