Well well well, who's there?
Kypson reappears after disappearing from the radar
I remember very well having done an analysis on him last year saying that the top 50 would be within his capabilities, behind the guy has sunk and little by little he is starting to grind as he should! I maintain that he has a lot of qualities in his game to make him a good player in the top 100. He came out of the qualifiers by beating Vukic and Gigante without losing a single service game, rather impressive. He is precise on serve, he follows well at the net when necessary and he is solid on both sides. I could not explain why he has not broken through since but I thought a lot of him and seeing him come out of the qualifiers with authority against two decent players makes me want to believe in him again. It is a great opportunity for him because he is playing another qualifier as well. Landaluce was much more sluggish with a victory in the decisive tie-break against Garin and another hard-fought victory against Fery. I still have trouble assessing his game, he makes a lot of mistakes and isn't impressive everywhere. He has potential but it seems like it's still not quite right. I'm maybe being a bit hard on him but I think it's rare to see him play good all-round matches. And here he's playing against a local player who also came out of the qualifiers so a victory for him doesn't seem obvious to me.
