A first
First meeting between Michelsen and Rune, a good little match in sight
Michelsen continues after his good tournament in Toronto, he defeated Moutet without being particularly excellent but just good enough to beat him. Still, 80% of points won behind the first against a guy who returns well, it's a very good stat before going to face Rune. The Dane scared himself again with two extremely close ends to sets and an inability to be really dangerous on the return throughout the match. He still has trouble with the balls, he says that they fly a lot and indeed it's hard to control. As usual we expect a rise in power from him, an average first round doesn't mean everything but it's been an average level for months on the other hand. I'm quite curious to see what strategy he will adopt in this match, if he leaves too much of the game to Michelsen it really won't be great given the quality of the American in the offensive phase. He loves to make the game and come to finish at the net! With his long-line shots and good service quality, he has everything he needs to stand up to a Rune who is not yet in top form. The Dane can raise his level of play, but unless there are attractive odds, the value lies on the other side of the net.
