No Medvedev to beat, but is that really good news?
I think that right now everyone wants to play Daniil on the tour and that's why Walton might not be as easy as R3 tomorrow. The Australian was combative and valiant during his victory against Medvedev, he didn't flinch physically and he likes it, he's used to these conditions and hard outdoor courts too. I like this player because he does what we ask of him: serve well, be aggressive and play when necessary, he's not great but his simple game can allow him to climb the rankings quietly. He's missing that little something that can take him to the next level but this season I've already seen him play excellent matches and he's already held on to good players, beating Medvedev can do him good and unlock something for him. In any case in these conditions we know he's going to be hard to break and he gives a lot of guarantees when a potential heat wave for example. In terms of match-up, I see a fairly close encounter once again between two players who will be careful with their serve-ins. The probability of seeing a TB seems high to me. Like today's matches, I'm betting on a close match with few chances on either side.
