Santalcaraz
The Spaniard gives gifts to all his opponents except Sinner!
Another super messy match from Carlito and I want to say we're starting to get used to it. Yes it was his first match since Wimbledon, he had to manage the surface transition and there was a good Dzumhur facing him but we have to stop hiding behind excuses it's far from the first time we've seen Alcaraz play this type of match. He wants to play at a pace that's just impossible even for him and in the end he finds himself giving away a number of free points which is mind-blowing. And he arrives at the press conference afterwards to say that the conditions are fast and that we therefore have to play even faster to be the first to attack, well okay. Which makes me want to lay him again tomorrow since the odds are always incredibly high with him. On top of that we have a good client to go and piss him off: Medjedovic! The Serbian is coming back strong after his minor injury and has just taken out Kovacevic and Griekspoor in two sets. He still has problems finishing in his matches, but the rest is seriously solid. With his mammoth serve, his natural power and his occasional grinding game, he could have the weapons to provoke Carlito and take advantage of a less good moment for the Spaniard.
