Criminal to put this match in first rotation, it was perfect for a night session!!

A Dantesque encounter and Tiafoe at the end of the suspense last year! The American beat Rune here in a crazy end of the match 7/6 in the third set, saving two match points in particular. It's their one and only confrontation, what has changed since then? I want to say that Rune is almost at the same point with very disappointing tournaments and some great breakthroughs. For Tiafoe it's a bit the same thing, he has his periods and as often when we get closer to the US Open he finds his best tennis. So no advantage compared to last year I think, I would even say that it's Big Foe who arrives with a little more confidence and matches in his legs. But Rune is pretty okay at the start of this tournament, he hasn't lost a set except that we said the same thing last week before he collapsed against Popyrin. All this to say that I am not yet convinced by Holger, I obviously need more and then we can have a reference match because beating Tiafoe at his place is often complicated. In the game I repeat but I prefer Tiafoe against players who are not hyper aggressive/big servers, even if Rune does both in a good way he is not at the point of a Humbert for example, which I like for Tiafoe. He likes these big fights. Rune should not be unhappy with the matchup either but nothing ultra positive either, in short it will be a tough fight tomorrow and the probability of seeing a big big match is enormous
