Majchrzak's opportunity?

It was a good showing in Wimbledon, now he has another chance in a pre-slam ATP 250...

We saw some good matches from Majchrzak in Wimbledon, but he was unable to really follow those up in the next ATP events he played in Gstaad and Umag. So, he decided to play CH Grodzisk Mazowiecki in Poland on an outdoor hard court, which he ended up winning last week. He was a heavy favorite in most matches, but at least he won in straight sets against Prizmic in the final, which helped him build some confidence and enter Winston-Salem in good spirits. Jarry had an even better run in Wimbledon (which he desperately needed, for his ranking), but he has managed to lose his last two matches from winning positions, against Botic and Pedro Martinez.

In Majchrzak's Wimbledon run, he beat Berrettini/Quinn/Rinderknech before losing to Khachanov. The ones he beat are all offensive players with big serves, especially Berrettini and Rinderknech. Khachanov was a lot trickier for him, since he is a Big Server / Solid Baseliner that can match him from the baseline. I think you know which one of those categories Jarry falls into, definitely not the solid one ;) So yes, I think this profile is not bad for Majchrzak, especially with a couple of wins against similar players recently. As for Jarry, he is always a danger due to his heavy weaponry, and even when things are not going well, he fights for every point. Jarry tends to do well against players with a weak serve (that he can overpower, despite their more solid baseline play) or other attacking players who are also erratic, like him. So, what about Majchrzak? Decent serve and solid from the baseline (fairly balanced), with a pretty good return and tennis IQ... so yes, he can trouble Jarry! I only mentioned his Wimbledon run, but Majchrzak has had good results throughout his entire career against Big Servers and offensive players. Could he possibly be catching Jarry at a decent time and start building momentum to become a regular on the ATP tour...?
