What if we met Mpetshi just before the US Open?
It's a tricky period for the French gloveman, who had several disastrous matches before starting his tournament here. He got through against Martinez, but that was still rubbish. Broken several times, too erratic in his game, and unable to find some consistency in what he was offering, it's worrying. The good news is that he got through in the deciding tiebreak, and Martinez still needed to be eliminated. A more relaxed second round, perhaps? A rise in power is possible, but from what I've seen, it's Muller who could have a good tournament this week. He was also struggling before the start of this tournament, and despite an equally stressful victory against Blanch, I think his level of play was more reassuring. We need to keep up with Muller in his good tournaments, but I remind you that he's still having a great 2025, and before his little period of doubt, he was really good. This will be the first confrontation between them and we can expect a close match as often with Mpetshi but since he is currently often broken, well I think Muller can have opportunities. He is rather good at restarting, I think our Mumu, and so much more stable in the game.
