We are walking on eggshells

The match is not easy to analyze given the many unknowns.

I was waiting for Diallo's R1 to see how he would react after a short string of less good matches. Stray double faults, less accuracy in the game, in short, Diallo hasn't been great in the last tournaments and this matchup against Basavareddy was supposed to allow him to get back on track. But Basavareddy made WO and so we don't really know what Diallo we'll have tonight. This time the matchup against Medjedovic is much less simple, he finds a good server against him but also a player capable of absorbing the opponent's power before countering, a good Medjedovic is top level. The Serb has just got rid of Fearnley with yet another big down in the second set, it's becoming a habit to see him start his matches in a good way before seriously taking the hit as the match progresses. Against Rinderknech if he lost the second set it already looked bad and against Fearnley it was going the same way.. So not really enough to trust him either especially since he is chaining matches. If this match is quick with few long points (which is likely) then Medjedovic can do something, he has the level to win in any case. But if he does not make enough difference on serve and we embark on a minimally testing match then Diallo's freshness wins out
