Another great performance from Munar to overcome Sonego, who was too unrealistic and not deadly enough at the start of the match. He could have been beaten in two sets but he hung on and knew that Sonego could take a physical hit depending on the length of the match and that's exactly what happened! Munar was patient but without being too passive either, he finished with 17/24 points won at the net, his great strength on hard this year. An interesting style of play against Fucsovics too, by the way, he won't refuse to fight from the baseline and on top of that he will choose his attacks intelligently before coming to poke and follow at the net. I can turn the situation around with a well-positioned Fucsovics this week on his side, he didn't get excited against Agut, made him play from the baseline and was able to be effective in his attacks. 89% of points won behind his first serve, I doubt that this % will be as high tonight, however, Munar relaunches much better and defends much more than Agut. Which makes me say that he will have to be much smarter in his tactics today to outflank Munar and manage to maneuver him properly. On paper it is not easy at all but Fucsovics plays well so why not?
