Tough draw for lefty qualifier

I don't have any bet here and I think the analysis of this match is fairly simple, so I won't waste too much time going over it extesively.

I can't think of many worse matchups for Oksana Selekhmeteva than Market Vondrousova. The Czech is simply a much stronger version of Selekhmeteva. Their games actually remind me a lot of each other. From being left handed, to playing a style that can play across surfaces, to manufacturing holds of serve without a booming first delivery, to a spin heavy forehand. Selekhmeteva is simply squaring off with a more formidable version of herself on Sunday.

She's also a tad more error prone, as we saw in her final qualifying match against Ayana Akli. Every player, including Vondrousova, will have spells where they lose control of their groundstrokes, but it's a matter of how often it happens. When Akli was solid from the baseline and coming to net behind her first serve, she was in charge of proceedings. An injury slowed her down, and I think it was a fortunate turn for Selekhmeteva.

Despite Selekhmeteva being far from the worst player in the draw, I do think the matchup is so tough that if she were to win, I'd be more surprised than most other potential upsets.
