Revenge for Jordan
Mannarino destroyed Thompson in Cincinnati but we saw in this first round that things could change
I'll take the Giron/Navone match as an example. Giron took a hit last week and seemed to have no solution to reverse the trend, but he was just better and more tactically accurate. So he beat Navone and the odds had varied too much for nothing. We have a similar case here with Mannarino who took advantage of a Thomson in recovery and apparently still a little injured. Since then, the Australian has played two doubles matches and his first round against Moutet. Tactically it was perfect, he targeted the Frenchman's backhand and rushed the net. Against Manna he will have to change strategy, Manna passes very well and is not as "bad" on the backhand side, in any case less easy to target. The battles are often close between them and this time Thompson seems more fit than in Cincinnati, it promises a much more contested and close match and that's what I will aim for in my betting. Back Mannarino very low, it seems complicated to me, he is not very young either and Thompson is not going to make as many mistakes as Griekspoor, on the other hand the Australian can still have back pain and there we have a nice angle live!
