Everything going well, Frances?
Tiafoe started this tournament, which is so important to him, in the best possible way with a three-set victory. That's good, but there's still a long way to go!
A much hotter match than the score suggests for Tiafoe, he got caught in a bit of a trap and if he lost the second set yesterday I would have been curious to see the outcome of this match afterwards. But Big Foe handled it well, he is carried by a crowd that adores him and as he said this time he comes into this tournament with confidence, he plays good tennis and he is confident! He faces a qualifier in this second round and for me this match is more disturbing than the previous one because the matchup changes completely. Damm is also left-handed but he is a powerful and offensive player who will attack him and not suffer as much. I don't like this kind of matchup for Tiafoe because he returns badly on the first serve and I prefer him in battles from the baseline where he can find his rhythm, he is not supposed to appreciate that. He can just serve the steel and be impactful on the opponents' second serves while managing his match once again but it might not be as easy as that! Damm is young, he has nothing to lose and he will go for it 100%, if Big Foe is rated in top 5 mode I think we will go for a nice lay
