Struff??
He comes back from nowhere after a start to the season worthy of a guy who was about to retire and yet here is Struffy again
This isn't the first time Struff has managed to raise his game during the GCs, I don't know if we can categorize him as a GC player but in any case he has already had some great battles when we didn't necessarily expect it. He did it again with a magnificent victory over Rune, some will tell me that it's "only" Rune but we have to put up with the Danish player, no matter what. For his part, Struff was efficient on serve as always, and he keeps his desire to take the net as soon as possible (58 points contested at the net). Hey, that reminds me of someone... And yes, he's a bit like Damm, a player that Tiafoe just beat not without difficulty. Despite losing a set, Tiafoe was much better, he didn't make many mistakes (like really few) and he was too good everywhere else, the problem is that once again I don't think he's at his best against this kind of profile and it showed again I think. He's struggling on the return and prefers to have time/be the aggressor, it's another tricky match that awaits him. Except that Big Foe at the US Open is another beast as Elie would say, indeed here the American is perhaps his best version every time. He's locked in, very focused, ready physically and mentally, he doesn't doubt. Is that enough to get through against a player whose profile is disturbing for him? Of course, he's fresher than Struff and simply better, but I don't see an easy match..
