A match worth its weight in gold

Rublev and FAA are looking to return to their best form since the start of the season and this is the perfect opportunity to mark their return with a quarter in GC

The killer stat is obviously that Rublev leads 8/1 against FAA, an even tougher H2H than the Canadian's against Zverev. But we saw how little that meant once on the court. I saw a complex matchup for Felix and ultimately no because Zverev was too passive which allowed FAA to play the game with his forehand with impressive success. He played his best match this week and maybe even for even longer. It's a completely different matchup that awaits him this time and that's my number 1 concern. Against Rublev the pace of the match changes as well as the Canadian's role. Rublev is not going to leave him alone so much, the Russian is not passive from the baseline, he gets into the ball as much as possible and we have to take that into account. Yes Felix was excellent against Zverev but he had control of the points. Seeing him so good in a different role is not the same. After Rublev won in 5 sets against Wong, he is not at all cured of his ailments and continues to move forward little by little. He took a beating in the first set against Wong but he stayed in it well. He was unable to restart and take control of the points. This will be a big point to take into account live for me: knowing if Felix is in an attacking role at 80% or 50%, if it is the second option then I side with Rublev.
