Yes, 37/38 holds is pretty remarkable... and not only that, he is serving 75-80% first serves IN (there could be at least some slight regression here, it's a very high number to maintain). It's safe to say he is feeling really comfortable in these fast altitude conditions, which makes sense... he is Chilean! It was a real battle against Lloyd Harris in his final QLF round (another player who is particularly hard to break in these conditions), but he managed to win 2 out of 3 tiebreaks. He should have won the match in straight sets, but some on-court drama ultimately cost him the second set. After the USO, Darderi went on to play a clay-court CH event in Italy, which he won. So, yes, a nice little bounceback after that brutal loss to Alcaraz.

As for the matchup, it feels like we have another very serve-oriented match on our hands. Darderi might need some time to adjust to hardcourts again and the altitude, but we know that he is a great altitude player. He is also a fighter and tends to keep his own serve rather well, esp with the ball flying and his forehand hammer to put away +1s. Tabilo might have a bit of a skill advantage in hardcourt conditions, but I'm always very aware of Darderi's fighting spirit! Tabilo has played 3 matches in 3 days, but only the second match against Lloyd Harris was a long-lasting one (almost 3h). He also went to the final in a CH event just prior to this, but most matches were quite short there. So, yes, we should keep this in mind, at least as a small factor. The weather is projected to be pleasant tomorrow, with no extreme heat or humidity.
