Is it Taro Daniel's week?

Three wins in straight sets for a player who has been out of form...

His last match against Wong was good from his side, but it was clear that Wong was not at his best, physically. There were a lot of unusual misses from Wong, and as the MTO indicates, he just looked "off" the entire match. Griekspoor started the season well but has completely gone off the rails, losing all four of his matches on hard courts since the clay/grass seasons. His latest match was against Mannarino in USO, where he lost in straight sets and struggled massively to handle Mannarino's game.

So, Tallon gets another chance at redeeming himself against a Counterpuncher! He did not play Davis Cup for some reason, so we have not seen him in action since USO. He has looked miserable on court (I know he's Dutch, but more than usual), and it's showing in his effort as well; everything has been a bit "lazy". The fast conditions here are great for him, especially with him not being in the best form right now, since he doesn't want to get into extended rallies. He'll have some chances on Daniel's serve, and he'll get a lot of free points with his own serve here. I don't like the humidity for him, but at least the Celsius is still in the upper 20s, nothing crazy like 35+... and points tend to be fast here. However, Griekspoor has not played a lot lately, and he is facing a player with three matches under his belt already who is liking the conditions a lot. Griekspoor is heavily reliant on his serve right now (the rest of his game is not as strong at the moment), but Daniel has been returning well, and with Tallon's lack of defensive skills/effort, he is also especially vulnerable to the backhand down the line. Lastly, will Griekspoor come out a bit more motivated for this match? I thought he would "turn up" for his match against Fucsovics in Winston-Salem a while back, but he came out flat there as well as in USO... it could be only a mental issue, but we never know if he is carrying some kind of injury/knock as well and just "showing up" to tournaments...
